Who you're dealing with
HumanTyper is built and operated by an independent developer ("we", "us"), reachable at support@thehumantyper.com. Payments, billing, and refunds are handled by Paddle.com as merchant of record.
The license
HumanTyper's core typing features are free forever for runs up to 500 characters. HumanTyper Pro is a one-time purchase — no subscription — that removes the length cap and enables the realism boosters. Your purchase buys a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to run HumanTyper Pro on one (1) device.
One license, one device: a Pro license is paired to a single machine at activation and will not run on another. Moving to a new device is fine and expected — deactivate in the app, then request a fresh activation for the new device (see Support).
Refunds
Refunds within 7 days of purchase, no questions asked — email support@thehumantyper.com and we process it through Paddle, who returns the funds to your original payment method. After 7 days, refunds are at our discretion; a broken activation on your part is not a defect, and we'll always try to fix you first. Full details: the refund policy.
Acceptable use
HumanTyper is a convenience and accessibility tool. You may not use it to misrepresent human work where doing so violates another party's terms (academic submissions, contests, salaried work product), to abuse services that forbid automation, or to harass. You're responsible for how you use it — the words typed are yours.
Your license key
License keys and activation certificates are for your personal use. Sharing, reselling, or publicly posting them voids the pairing and, for abuse, the license. If your key leaks and gets deactivated, contact support — legitimate buyers are re-crediting, not re-charging.
Updates
Your license covers updates for the product's lifetime at no extra cost. We may change or discontinue features; free-tier functionality will stay free. If we ever discontinue the product outright, the last build will keep working — it runs fully offline.
Warranty & liability
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from use of the software — including mistyped text, missed deadlines, or account actions taken by services you typed into. Test in a low-stakes window first; that's what the free tier is for.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the U.S. state where the operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Changes to these terms
Material changes will be announced on the changelog page with the version that introduces them. Continuing to use the app after that constitutes acceptance.
